Tunnels to beat traffic. The Las Vegas Convention Center Loop opened in 2021; the Vegas Loop is planned to grow to 68 miles.
The Boring Company started inside SpaceX in 2017 and became its own company in 2018. Its first public system, the Las Vegas Convention Center Loop, opened in 2021 with three stations and 1.7 miles of tunnel. Extensions to Resorts World and other hotels followed, and the Vegas Loop is planned to reach 68 miles. In October 2025 it began trialling self-driving vehicles on part of the network.
